UKGSA Annual Charity Dinner Raises £2,750 for Macmillan Cancer Support

The UK Gasket & Sealing Association (UKGSA) is proud to announce its Annual Charity Dinner, held this June, successfully raised £2,750 in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The evening brought together members from across the UK’s gasket and sealing sectors for a night of camaraderie, generosity and fundraising. Highlights of the evening’s charitable efforts included a lively Heads & Tails game (the winner won a two-night stay at a hotel in Falmouth), a selection of raffle prizes kindly donated by members, and an auction of two prizes: a two-night mid-week break in a vineyard hotel in Cardiff and two corporate tickets to a Manchester United Football Club home game.

Gavin Lyles, Fundraising Officer at the UKGSA, said:

“We’re delighted with the support shown by our members and guests. Macmillan Cancer Support does incredible work for people affected by cancer, and it was an honour to fundraise on their behalf. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part and gave so generously.”

The UKGSA would also like to thank the event sponsors, prize donors, and attendees for making the evening such a success.

During the evening, Jack and Lauren Dowling, ambassadors for Macmillan Cancer Support, shared their personal story about Tom, Jack’s brother, who sadly passed away from bowel cancer in 2024, and the ongoing support Macmillan have provided Jack and his family.

Stacey Rhodes, Senior Relationship Fundraising Manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, said:

“We would like to thank the UKGSA for inviting myself and our ambassadors to their Charity Dinner; it was a delightful evening, and we were made to feel so welcome. A huge thank you to the UKGSA and its members for raising yet another incredible amount of money which will be used to support people with cancer.”

All proceeds will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support, helping fund vital services for individuals and families affected by cancer across the UK.
