UK Gasket & Sealing Association Backs National Manufacturing Day 2026
Posted on Sep 16, 2026 Tags: Industry EventsIndustry NewsThe UK Gasket & Sealing Association (UKGSA) supports National Manufacturing Day, taking place on Thursday 24 September. This UK-wide open house invites the public behind the scenes of factories and production facilities, offering a first-hand look at modern manufacturing in action.
Gaskets and seals may not always be visible, but they are essential to almost everything we rely on, from cars and aircraft to machinery that keeps water and food supply chains running. National Manufacturing Day is a chance to see the precision, technology and people that make this possible and to challenge outdated ideas of what manufacturing looks like today.
Members are opening their doors
We’re delighted that four UKGSA members have signed up to take part this year:
Each will be holding an open day, giving visitors the opportunity to step onto the factory floor and see how gaskets and seals are designed, engineered and manufactured.
In addition, the Association will be organising a separate Member visit to Moontown this autumn, giving fellow members a closer look at their new facilities.
Careers in manufacturing
Manufacturing today looks very different to the image many people may still carry. Modern facilities are built on advanced engineering, precision materials science, automation, and highly skilled teams.
Many of our members offer genuine routes into rewarding careers including:
- Apprenticeships
- Work experience placements
- Direct employment opportunities
National Manufacturing Day is a valuable opportunity for students, job seekers, career changers, and the wider community to meet the people behind the products and discover the opportunities that exist within UK manufacturing and specifically within the gasket and sealing industry.
Further details on open days can be found on the Make UK website.
