Serving our Members with activities designed to promote success and growth, through collaboration and best practice. The Association aims to provide a platform for Members to network with decision makers and influencers at the highest level and across all sectors of our industry.
We organise an annual Golf Day and an annual Charity Dinner as well as a number of networking events throughout the year.
Industrial and manufacturing tours or presentations to Member and non-member sites. These events aim to give insights to advanced manufacturing, best practice and material technical developments that will inspire our membership.
Members have access to an unprecedented technical resource in their fellow members who are available to offer support on manufacturing issues, material selection and processing, and design & development.
Members can vote at our Annual General Meeting.
Members are eligible for election to stand on our Executive Committee.
Behind the scenes, we actively promote our Members’ activities and views through press releases to national and international trade magazines and general media. We represent our industry to various technical bodies on international standards and actively look for opportunities to promote our values. We aim to proactively promote our Members’ views to government and trade bodies and influence the decisions of those organisations to the benefit of our Members.
Social media: We actively use Twitter and LinkedIn and encourage all our Members to follow our channels. We regularly share Member’s posts on social media.
Website: We publish Member news stories and have Member profiles on our website. Profiles are searchable by product/services. Our website also includes a Resources area which includes useful technical information.
Media: We are active in developing strong media relationships with all of the mainstream manufacturing and engineering publications.
Cutting Edge e-newsletter: We send out quarterly e-newsletters to our Members and our wider industry contacts with a variety of information and Member news articles. Members can book a free half page advert in one issue of the e-newsletter each year (worth £200) and can submit unlimited editorial articles.
e-Blasts: Members can issue two e-blasts per membership year to our contacts database (worth £150). Additional e-blasts are charged at £75 each.
On our website and in our quarterly e-newsletter, Members can promote their promotional offers and member-to-member deals for free.
Through our affiliation with the British Standards Institute, Members are able to acquire electronic copies of UK, European and International Standards at discounted prices. We also have agreements with a number of suppliers offering products or services at discounted prices.
UKGSA Members can receive up to 20% discount off laptops, desktops, monitors and accessories through Dell Technologies UK, and access their Small Business Technology Advisors for free advice to help grow their business.
Members can access Enistic which provides carbon management solutions including carbon reduction plans. The platform helps you track, analyse and act on your carbon reduction plans, as well as report your Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data at a granular level. With a special code, Members can use the Enistic Standard product for free for 12 months. A maximum number of 10 seats are available.
We support our chosen charity – Macmillan Cancer Support – through fundraising activities at events, such as our annual charity dinner, and directly by our Members.
