PFAS Update Following June ECHA Committee Meetings
Posted on Jul 01, 2025 Tags: Industry NewsThe June 2025 meetings of the Risk Assessment Committee (RAC) and the Socio-Economic Analysis Committee (SEAC) of the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) progressed with their evaluation of the proposed restriction of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
The committees reached provisional conclusions for PFAS uses in medical devices. In addition, the RAC reached provisional conclusions for Lubricants and SEAC for Transport.
More sectors will be evaluated in September’s committee meetings, including Electronics and semiconductors, PFAS manufacturing, Energy, and Lubricants.
A six-month consultation on the restriction proposal for certain chromium (VI) substances commenced on 18 June.
