Members Raise Money for Macmillan
Posted on Aug 30, 2019Members of the UK Gasket & Sealing Association (UKGSA) raised £1,265.00 for Macmillan Cancer Support at their Golf Day Charity Dinner in June.
This year the UKGSA held its annual golf day at Shrigley Hall Hotel, Golf & Country Club near Macclesfield, which saw both members and their guests enjoy a game of golf followed by a black-tie dinner in the evening.
Fundraising activities included a Heads & Tails game to start the evening’s entertainment followed by a raffle, with an array of prizes donated by members.
Sandy McEwen, vice-chairman of the UKGSA and director of founding members William Johnston & Company Limited, said: “Macmillan Cancer Support has been the Association’s nominated charity for a number of years having raised over £8,500 to date. We value the work of Macmillan and the support they provide those living with cancer as well as those affected such as families and friends. We hope the money we raised will go a little way to ensuring they continue to offer this critical and valuable support.”
Macmillan’s fundraising manager for The West of Scotland, Michelle Jeffcott said: “At Macmillan, we know how cancer can affect everything. We’re here to help people live life, no matter what, but we can’t do it without the amazing people who fundraise for us. We are delighted to be UKGSA’s nominated charity as without support like this, we simply could not be there to provide our vital services for people affected by cancer. I’d like to say a huge thank you to all at UKGSA for their continued support.”
