Relaxing in the spa
Getting away for a few days from the office is always wonderful, but when it’s to visit a spa and mingle with members of the UKGSA it’s even better.
While some people filled their day with a round of golf, Lyn and I visited the spa, and it was lush! We had an array of packages to choose from with all different treatments. Eventually we decided on a full body scrub each which was quite possibly the most relaxed I’ve ever been in my life! This gave us access to the spa facilities all day, so we made the most of that with a swim, sauna, steam room and relax poolside.
The package we chose also came with a ‘light lunch’ – which was anything but! We dined on a starter of pea and mint soup, followed by a chicken Caesar salad for lunch and delectable desserts of Eton Mess and a heavenly chocolate brownie. What made the experience so much more lovely, besides the free glass of prosecco, was a couple – not with the UKGSA – having an afternoon tea and spa session who were unable to finish their sweet treats so popped them on our table!
After relaxing all day, we got ready for the black-tie dinner which we were very much looking forward to.
A warm welcome from members of the UKGSA
One thing I do love about the UKGSA is that no matter your age, gender or position within a company – once we’re all together it’s such an easy experience. Easy conversations, easy personalities to get along with, and I’ve never felt so welcomed into a group so quickly.
The UKGSA Annual Dinner is a highlight of my professional year and I would recommend the event to any Member.
