Members Raise Money for Charity
Posted on Sep 13, 2022An amazing £3,000 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support by Members of the UK Gasket & Sealing Association (UKGSA) at our Annual Golf Day Charity Dinner in July.
This year’s event was held at Shrigley Hall Hotel & Spa in Macclesfield which is known for its challenging golf course. The event saw both members and their guests enjoy a day of golf followed by a black-tie charity dinner in the evening.
Fundraising activities included sponsorship of golf trophies, Heads & Tails game and a raffle. The evening closed with auctions of a golf experience at the Trump International course in Aberdeen (donated by Flexitallic) and two hospitality tickets for Manchester United Football Club (donated by J A Harrison).
Sandy McEwen, vice-chairman of the UKGSA and consultant for founding members William Johnston & Company Limited, said: “Macmillan Cancer Support has been our nominated charity for a number of years and I’m delighted with the amount our Members raised in just one day!”
Macmillan’s fundraising manager for the West of Scotland, Michelle Campbell said: “At Macmillan, we’re here to help people live life, no matter what, but we can’t do it without the amazing people who fundraise for us. I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the UKGSA for their continued support.”
