Silicone Solution for COVID-19 Vaccination Transportation
Posted on Jan 29, 2021UKGSA Member, Silicone Engineering, are working with a company who specialises in Cold-Chain logistics, to help create a cold box seal for COVID-19 vaccination transportation.
Silicone Engineering were approached to find a seal solution for a cold box that needed to have excellent compression set and be able to maintain its flexible sealing properties in operating temperatures of -70 degrees centigrade. This was critical to maintain the temperature of COVID-19 vaccinations during transportation.
The solution identified was kSil® QR250 quick release silicone sponge due to its ultra-low compression set and its ability to recover and maintain the sealing properties at sub-zero conditions.
