Remembering Lyn Weichardt

It is with great sadness and loss that we report the passing of Lyn Weichardt of Direct Gaskets. You can read the family’s funeral notice.

Keith Shepherd kindly shares his memories of Lyn.

Lyn had not been well for some time but was soldiering on as she always did. Lyn’s passing came as a complete shock to many, including close family and friends.

A very strong and respected member of not only the gasket and sealing industry, but also the UK Gasket & Sealing Association (UKGSA), she was a regular attendee at the association’s functions with a tendency to support those that might involve a little flutter.

I enjoyed many occasions in Lyn’s company at both race meetings and golf days alike organised by the UKGSA, but then she had a love of the casino also. If there was one nearby, you could be sure she would pay a visit and I enjoyed many an enjoyable night at the casino where Lyn enjoyed considerable success at times.

I have lost a valued customer and industry colleague, but more so I have lost a great friend who could light up any room she was in and was a joy to be with.

My sincerest condolences go to her family and close friends.

I am sure the Weichardt name in the industry will go on through daughter Lily and we wish her all the success in the future.
