The De Minimis Tax Exemption is a law that allows shipments for American businesses and consumers valued under $800 (per person, per day) to enter the US free of duty and tax. Shipments are still subject to screening by the US Customers and Border Protection.
However, on 30 July 2025 this duty free tax was suspended and will come info effect on 29 August 2025. All low value goods shipped via non-postal channels will now be subject to import duties and customs clearance.
