Ladies Race Day 2016 - Warwick Racecourse
Thursday, 29th September 2016
Warwick Racecourse was the excellent venue for this year’s Ladies day . After a blustery walk to our box in the Premiere Enclosure, we started the event with a Champagne reception and catch ups with our guests and old friends.
Before sitting down for lunch, the Course Tipster, gave us his “expert” advice on which horses would do well and which would be left at the starting line. His advice was brilliant with all of us winning along the line. He ‘popped’ back and forth during the afternoon to ensure we had been winning and invited those who wish to join him on down on the course at the finishing line. Several of our party joined him, and he continued chatting to them about the race. Everyone who went down said they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves watching the races from a different perspective.
Our lunch was severed, with a couple of last minute changes (holding back some of the meals as people had been caught up in the traffic chaos of the M62!) of Chilli Prawns or Soup, Rump of Lamb, Possette, Cheese and biscuits, port. Then afternoon tea.
Our box had a panoramic view of the whole course and overlooked the premiere enclosure, so we could see ‘our’ horses before the race. The weather was extremely good to us, especially as it had rained that morning.
The eagerly awaited award for the Best Fascinator sponsored by Corseal. The bottle of Champagne was awarded to Debbie Thomas of Alliance Engineering with runner up Sue Grover a guest of Keith Payne Products Ltd, presented with a bouquet of Autumn Flowers.
After an afternoon of excellent company, good food, lots of drink, and great racing we finished at 6pm. A great time was had by all with a good mixture of networking and entertainment.
Some continued after the race day into Worcester for drinks and supper to round off a perfect day.
